|"Skagit Master" Ed Ward teaching a Spey Casting Clinic held in Denver|
In the world of two-handed fly rods, Scott, Mike and Ed are at the top of a very short list of extraordinary people. In addition to being world class Spey casters, line and rod designers, and advisory members for RIO Products and Sage Fly Rods, these guys are VERY fishy. Getting an opportunity to fish with these characters has been on my top five bucket list for several years. Rod slot availability to be guided by them on one of their floats simply doesn't open up.
The Grande Ronde gathers its flow from the Wallowa and Wildcat Mountains in Oregon. From there it flows into the Snake River in Washington. During September and October the temperate desert region is perfect for overnight float trips. It also happens to be the peak of the summer Steelhead run. Floating this remote stretch of "The Ronde" and fishing for Steelhead that are notorious for taking dry flies is... well... Freaking Awesome!
Enough said. I'm going! If you want to come, get it together quick.
Dates: October 24th - 27th, 2011
